Let's first defne: Consulting
The practice of providing expert advice and solutions to organizations or individuals facing specific challenges. It entails specialized knowledge, skills, and experience in specific industries or domains that serve to help businesses solve specific problems.
A change management consultant is a professional who helps organizations manage the complexities of transformation. They guide companies through transitions, ensuring the process is smooth, efficient, and embraced by employees.
I really don't think there's a better way to describe it than that.
You have a transition you or your company/department are navigating or changes you're trying to implement and you want support in doing so. You want the process to be efficient and effective. You want employees/officers to respond well to it instead of resisting it or pushing back against you.
When you're in that position, you contact me.
I've watched countless police chiefs, supervisors, business owners and even parents experience backlash, complaining, resistance, low morale, disconnection from the people they employ and care for when they're making changes or there's a transition happening.
My expertise in human behavior offers a unique and specialized perspective on understanding why people do the things they do. When you get a grasp of WHY there's backlash & complaining, why they're resisting, why the morale has changed or the trust has been broken, why there's disconnection and miscommunication happening all the time...
I'm talking more than:
"They don't like it"
"It's just something new they need to adjust to."
"They'll get over it."
"They'll survive."
"They can deal with it."
If you want change to be smoother
If you want change to be more effecient and effective in the way that you desire it to be
If you want your level of stress, overwhelm and frustration to be lower as you go through this change or transition, let alone how other people are feeling and impacted by it
You have to get to the core of each persons WHY.
What's going on under the surface and how do you solve this problem in a way that is beneficial for everyone?
You can RUIN relationships and trust with ONE decision, ONE action, during times of change and it can be extremely difficult to get it back if you don't understand why that trust feels broken in the first place. If you don't understand why they feel what they feel, why they do what they do in response to that feeling, you'll never be able to find a solution that sticks and fixes the problem.
Getting clear on the WHY means you now know what they want and need. When you know what someone actually wants and needs - 95% of people don't know what they want and need because they don't understand why they're feeling or doing what they're feeling or doing - you can find real answers and solutions.
When you want someone to help you find those answers and solutions so you don't have to expend your time energy to struggle and find them yourself, you hire a change management consultant like me.
